Doughtie Leads Field at Lady Puerto Rico Classic

I have a cousin that plays golf for NC State University. I wanted to let you know how well she is doing in a golf tournanment this week. They are playing in a tournament in Puerto Rico and she is tied for 1st going into the last day, Tuesday, Today! Good Luck and Best wishes today Lauren! We are all pulling for you and we love you!

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - NC State women's golfer Lauren Doughtie is tied for the lead through two rounds of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.

The senior from Suffolk, Va., heads into Tuesday’s final round tied among a group of four players at +2 (146). Doughtie shot the second-best round of the day on Monday with a one-under 71.

The Wolfpack is in fourth in the team standings after 36 holes of play at +34 (310-300=610).

Junior Emily Street fired a one-over 73 today and is tied for 13th at +5 (76-73=149).Meghan Chapman shot a 77 during today’s second round and is tied for 27th at +11 (78-77=155).

Sophomore Julie Saleeby is tied for 55th at +16 (83-77=160), while freshman Hunter Ross is tied for 70th at +19 (83-80=163).

Playing as an individual, NC State junior Joanna Saleeby is tied for 22nd at +9 (76-77=153).

Tied with Doughtie at the top of the leaderboard is Laura Nochta (Indiana), Maria Hernandez (Purdue) and Prisela Campbell (TCU).

Host Purdue leads the field by 10 strokes at +16 (592), followed by Georgia +26 (602) and TCU +27 (603).

The 54-hole tournament is being played on the par-72, 6,219-yard Coco Beach Golf Course in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

The third and final round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic will begin tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. Eastern.
